Squad for Denmark Friendly
Last week Dick Advocaat announced his squad for the upcoming friendly match against Denmark in Copenhagen on February 29. The squad retains most of the players that participated in Euro qualifying. The only new addition is Spartak Moskva’s winger Dmitri Kombarov. Recalls include Aleksandr Kerzhakov returning after an injury last fall and Vladimir Gaboulov who is coming back after almost a years absence. Dynamo Moskva striker Aleksandr Kokorin retains his place among the five strikers after making his debut against Greece last November.
Overall the squad brings together familiar faces that have been consistently called up during Dick Advocaats reign. Obviously his squad is based on the core team that reached the Euro 2008 semifinals under the management of Guus Hiddink. There is really no need for Dick Advocaat to make any major changes as the squad as a whole had a very solid qualifying campaign for this summer’s showpiece.
