Thanks to the beauty of ESPN 3, I am able to watch the game for free over the internet. I’ll just share my impressions on the first half in a very brief entry.

Russia clearly dominated Ireland in all given parameters. Passing, possession, and shots were all in Russia’s favor. In defense the back four have performed remarkably. Positioning on all parts of the field has been excellent. Kerzhakov and Dzagoev demonstrate their ability once again as they do with their clubs. I still do however disagree with Zhirkov at left back because he can be much more effective on the left wing. Arshavin and Shirokov are the other players to highlight in the first 45 minutes.

Thats all I have to say for now, be sure to look for my analysis after the game. Lets hope for a good second half.
